Vadhu Doctoranu is a 1994 Malayalam comedy drama film directed by K. K. Haridas. The film stars Jayaram, Nadhiya in lead roles and Jagathy, Sreenivasan in supporting roles. This was Haridas's second directorial venture.[1][2]
Plot
Sidharthan (Jayaram) wanted to become a doctor but couldn't study medicine and becomes a Junior Engineer at KSEB. His wish is to marry only a doctor. Vinayan (Sreenivasan) who is in love with Nirmala, Sidharthan's sister, causes an issue at Sidharthan's office and Sidharthan along with his colleague Charlie (Mamukkoya) assaults another person mistaking him for Vinayan. That person turns out to be an employee of Purushothaman (Rizabawa) a rich business person in the locality. Purushothaman, who was already not on good terms with Sidharthan, sends Madhavan (Shivaji) and assaults him as revenge and also files a complaint with police for the assault at the office. Sidharthan and Charlie get transferred to another location as departmental punishment. Sidharthan meets Ammukutty there who turns out to be a doctor. Impressed by this, Sidharthan decides to marry her.
On the wedding day Sidharthan realizes his wife is a Veterinarian and not a doctor that treats humans. He becomes devastated by this, not only because his wish to marry a doctor didn't come true but also because of the humiliation he would face from his office colleagues and people in the neighborhood. He couldn't accept this and treats his newly wed wife Ammukutty rudely. This is followed by a series of incidents in Sidharthan's life, ultimately for Sidharthan to fall in love with Ammukutty at the end.

Release
The movie was a success upon release and it was considered as one of the best movies of the director. Lead actor Jayaram has also cited the movie as one of his favorites in an interview.[5][6][7]
