Valentina Lombardo (born 3 May 1985 in La Spezia) is an Italian pianist..[1][2]

Biography[edit]

Lombardo attended Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin (Italy) where she graduated in piano with top marks and obtained the Second Level Piano Academic Degree[3]. Afterwards Lombardo attended the “Cours Professionnel Superieur” at the l’Ecole Normal A.Cortot in Paris (France) in Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri class and she studied with internationally renowned pianists, such as Malcolm Bilson, Massimiliano Damerini, Henri Barda, Andrea Lucchesini, Pietro De Maria, Temenuschka Vesselinova[4][5].

Lombardo acts as a soloist and chamber musician, performing classical and contemporary music in Italy, France and Belgium[6]. Her repertory ranges from baroque to modern music, but it is mainly focused on French Impressionism[7][8] and 21st-century classical music[9]. She made the first run of many works by Hervé Legrand, Antonio Bellandi and P.Shroeder and she has established a close collaboration with the italian composer Carlo Francesco Defranceschi[10][11], recording his opera omnia for piano for the Italian label Valle Giovanni Edizioni Musicali[12][13]

Lombardo’s debut recording “Métamorphose d’une feuille”[14][15], a collection of 24 unreleased piano preludes, was quickly followed up by “Lumiére”[16], containing both solo and chamber music given by the unconventional piano and harpsichord ensemble and the latest album “Eclipse”[17], featuring Estampes and Nocturnes for piano solo.
