Valentyn Petrovych Barbara

Valentyn Petrovych Barbara (born April 17, 1959, Khotiv village, Kyiv-Svyatoshyn district, Kyiv region) is a Ukrainian judge.[1] He has served as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ukraine and Secretary of the Trial Chamber on Commercial Cases (2011). He is an Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (2005) and has a PhD in law.

Biography

He began his career in 1976 as an assembly fitter at the Kyiv Research and Experimental Plant of Automatic Control Devices. 1977-1980 — service in the army. 1980-1985 — studying at the Faculty of Law of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, specializing in jurisprudence.

1986-1997 — Judge of the Darnytsia District Court of Kyiv. 1997-2001 — Assistant to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. 2001 — elected as a judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. 2002 — Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Chamber on Commercial Cases of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. 2007 — Chairman of the Judicial Chamber on Commercial Cases of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. 2010 — Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. 2011 — elected Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine — Secretary of the Judicial Chamber on Commercial Cases.

Candidate of Law.

In 2015, he was re-elected to the position of Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

  • Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (2005).
  • Order of Merit III degree (2009).
  • Certificate of Honor of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
