Valley Fiber head office and data center

Valley Fiber Limited is an internet service provider located in the city of Winkler in southern Manitoba. Valley Fiber was incorporated in December of 2016. It was touted as being possibly the fastest internet provider in Canada[1][2][3] because of what it calls dedicated[4][5][6] fiber optic service. The company headquarters and its tier 3 carrier neutral datacenter[7] are located at 965 HWY 14, Winkler, Manitoba, Canada.

In 2017 Valley Fiber received $500,000[8][5][3] and a parcel of land for their headquarters/datacenter from the City of Winkler to install fiber optic connections to all civic buildings in exchange for free hookups for all residential buildings and businesses in Winkler. In May they broke ground, started digging and laying the first of many feet of fiber optic cables.[9]

On January 9, 2018, Valley Fiber received a government grant of 10.3 million dollars,[10][11][12][13] to improve internet services to 24 communities and 21 institutions[14] in southern Manitoba.

In 2019 expansion started on the fiber optic network in Altona[15], Manitoba. On August 2, 2019 The Government of Canada announced funding of an additional 6.9 million dollars to Valley Fiber for improved high speed internet access to several communities in South Central Manitoba.[16][6]

Future plans for the company include a TV service[4] and expansion to Morris[17], Carman[18] and to other communities[6] in southern Manitoba.

In February of 2020 Valley Fiber launched their television service Valley Fiber TV with two tiers. The entry level tier starts with 100 channels of 4K tv, some of which are music channels. Their top tier package has 140 4K channels available.

In April 20th, 2020 Valley Fiber was acquired by DIF Capital Partners, a group out of Amsterdam with €6.7 billion in assets.[19][20]
