VanDyson Marine Fund
The VanDyson Marine Fund was launched [1] on April 2021 in Sydney, Australia. The fund supports marine projects involved with the blue economy in Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Duncan van der Merwe is a founder of the VanDyson Marine Fund.
The VanDyson Marine Fund is a sub-fund in the Australian Philanthropic Services Foundation (APS Foundation). The APS Foundation is a public ancillary fund registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
On World Oceans Day [1] 2021, the VanDyson Marine Fund supported the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) with a fund raiser.[2]. AMCS are working on several ongoing campaigns in plastics, sustainable fishing, marine park, and various coral reef / water quality related issues.
The VanDyson Marine Fund has granted financial support to the following organisations[3]:
- Ocean Guardian - Research and development aimed at saving both sharks and human lives
- Operation Posidonia - Restoring underwater seagrass meadows
- Kelp Forest Alliance (KFA) - Kelp forest management and restoration
- Operation Crayweed - Restoring Sydney’s Underwater Forests
