Van Damage (born Van Brunt[1] September 28, 1966[1][2][3] in San Diego, California, U.S.[2]), is a retired porn star and director in the pornography industry.[1][2][3] He gained his nickname of "Damage" whilst serving as a member of a military special forces unit.[3]
Career
Van Damage began his career in the pornography industry in 1995, directing and performing in a number of videos for V.G. Productions.[3]
Then he spent 13 months beginning in 1997 as a contract director for Patrick Collins's then newly formed company called Elegant Angel,[4] directing fourteen movies for that company.[3] Of these, the series "Filthy First Timers" won the 1997 XRCO Best Amateur or Pro-Am Series Award,[5] the 1997 Best Amateur Series AVN Award[6] and the 1998 Best Pro-Am Series AVN Award.[7][8] "Filthy Coeds" was nominated for the 1998 Best All-Sex Video AVN Award and Damage was nominated for the Best Couples Sex Scene—Video Award for his part in the film.[7][8]
In 1997, Rob Zicari ("Rob Black"), Tom Byron, and Damage left Elegant Angel to establish Extreme Associates as a separate company.[4] Van Damage spent 1998 directing videos for Extreme Associates.[3] For his efforts there, Van Damage received several more AVN nominations[9] and another XRCO win for best group sex scene.[10] Van Damage left that company after one year.[3]
Van Damage later directed and acted for Zane Entertainment Group, In-X-Cess Productions, Pagan Productions and Fatt Entertainment.[3] He retired from the adult film industry in 2013 after appearing in over 700 films and directing 56.[3]
