Vanlal Tluonga Bapui (born 14 November 1944) also known as V. L. T. Bapui is an Indian Hmar linguist, educator, and author known for his contributions to the documentation and promotion of the Hmar language.[1] He co-authored the Hmar–Hmar–English Dictionary with Kedutso Kapfo, a major resource for Hmar language learners.[2][3][4]

He researched Hmar language education in Assam.[5][6] He documented Hmar oral traditions.[7][better source needed] His works are archived by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL),[3] Assam Institute of Research for Tribals and Scheduled Castes,[8] New York Public Library,[9] Azim Premji University,[10][11] Tezpur University, and University of Kerala.

His books are also available through multiple publishers and digital libraries.[12][13][14]

His work contributes to the preservation and promotion of Hmar language and culture.[15][16]
