Varte (in Persian: ورطه) is an Iranian Oriental Progressive Metal band.They started as a Rock band having folkloric sound and color infused with rock and occasionally metal style. They added narrative themes to their music using the Middle-Eastern folkloric themes. History, mythology, and legends plays the main roles as themes for their lyrics, tone and genre.[1]
History[edit]
Varte was formed in 2014, releasing a couple of singles and preforming concerts including one with an Iranian international choir group Mehr-e Vatan.[2]
In 2017 they released their first album nationally and then worldwide named The Inscribed Tale in the year 2017, through the German label Blue Flame Records. according to the band official website they tried to introduce their own style which is rooted in their culture, history and folkloric stories with the album.[3][4]
They are working on their new release which is a metal album called The Light of the in the upcoming years.[5]
