VectorStock is an online marketplace for free and royalty-free vector graphics. They offer more than 32 million vector images with 950,000 of those available to download and use for free.

The content is supplied by VectorStock’s several thousand contributors who add more than half a million new vector graphics to the library each month.

History[edit]

VectorStock was launched in 2007 [1] with a library of 600 vectors hand-drawn by founder Stephen Green.

In 2014 the VectorStock library reached one million vector images.

In 2016 a Subscription payment model was added, allowing customers to licence and download vector graphics in bulk.

In 2017 a Pay-per-Image payment option was introduced, allowing visitors to pay for single vector graphics without the need to buy multiple credits or create an account.

In 2019 a Customization service was added, which allowed customers to hire one of VectorStock’s artists to perform minor edits (such as change colors or insert a business name) to a vector graphic they had licensed.

Overview[edit]

VectorStock content is provided by artists who licence their vector graphics for use. Contributors first apply by uploading original vector content for review [2]. If successful the applicant is invited to become a regular contributor to the website and create an artist account.

VectorStock manages the storage and distribution of files, payment processing, image processing and support services. Contributors set the licence credit price for each of their vectors and retain between 25-40% of the total payment [3]. They are not bound to exclusive licensing agreements.
