L'Enciclopèdia in Valencian is an encyclopedia wiki of the Valencian Community (Spain) written in Valencian, was created on December 2, 2007. On October 11, 2022 it had a total of 25 595 articles.[1][2][3][4]
Characteristics[edit]
L'Enciclopèdia in Valencian uses the free software MediaWiki and is maded by volunteers, since like many wikis, any internet user can collaborate. In the logo of L'Enciclopèdia appears the slogan Free information in Valencian.
According to L'Enciclopèdia, it is the "only encyclopedia that uses a Valencian orthographic rules for the Valencian",[5] the Normes del Puig of the Royal Academy of Valencian Culture dating from 1979 and also "the only one made in Valencian from the Valencian Community and aimed at a Valencian audience".[2][5]
L'Enciclopèdia in Valencian has among its objectives the development of an encyclopedia in Valencian of free content and spread the Valencian language and culture on the internet.[5][3][4]
L'Enciclopèdia implemented in February 2015 a version of the wiki for mobile devices that facilitates navigation for users.[6]
The Royal Academy of Valencian Culture awarded L'Enciclopèdia in Valencian on 6 April 2022 a diploma in recognition of its contribution to the development, use and consolidation of the Valencian language and the Normes del Puig.[7] [5]
