Vernon Hill (flautist)
Vernon Hill is an Australian flautist, educator and author.

Hill was born in Toowoomba, Australia. In his early years, Vernon was taught by Leslie Barklamb..[1] Beginning his career as Principal Flute in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for over 10 years[2], he was the musical director of The Victorian Flute Guild[3], a founding member of the Canberra Wind Soloists[4] and author of The flute player's book.[5][6]
Vernon Hill was the Head of Woodwind at the ANU School of Music for 17 years.[7][8]
As an educator, Hill has mentored and taught notable Australian musicians including; Sally Walker[9], David Shaw[10], Catherine Fluke[11], Bridget Bolliger[12], Carolyn Harris[13], Sarah Nielsen[14], Prem Love[15], and Michael Waye[16]
Hill was appointed as an Artistic Advisor to the 2019 Australian Flute Festival.[17]
At the end of 2016, it was announced that Hill would begin working at the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University.[18]
