Veronica Guardado is a member of the Maywood, California city council.[1]

Guardado was elected to the Maywood City Council in November 2007 and served as mayor in 2009.[2][3] Guardado was the subject of a recall election on December 9, 2008, along with fellow council members Ana Rosa and Felipe Aguirre. The recall was unsuccessful, and voters passed an ethics measure brought forth by Council Member Guardado.[4]

Guardado has collaborated with Cal State Fullerton in their annual Education Fair. Her aim was to create a college culture in Maywood.[5]

In November 2011, Guardado was elected to a second term with the highest number of votes on the ballot.[citation needed][6]
