Victor Rivas, better known as Victor Rivers (sometimes Victor Rivas Rivers) is a Cuban-American actor and former football player.
Biography[edit]
Victor Rivers was born in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. He was physically abused by his father as a child and was even kidnapped with his siblings at one point.[1] He became a gang member in his early teens but eventually was offered a job in a project, Semi Tough.[2]
He was the first Cuban-born football player to land a tryout with the Miami Dolphins. He played for Coach Bobby Bowden.
In his memoir A Private Family Matter he described his own abuse at the hands of his father, including being induced to starvation to train for his football practice.[3] as well as on multiple TV series, including LIFE, Law & Order LA, CSI Miami, JAG, and Star Trek.
