Victoria Arduino is an Italian company specialized in the manufacture of high-end espresso machines. Its production combines the bodywork of the first models and new technologies.

History[edit]

Its history begins in 1905, when Pier Teresio Arduino [1]in his Turin workshop improves Angelo Moriondo's steam system and invents a machine capable of producing several hundred espressos per hour. The name of the invention was "La Victoria" because Arduino considered it an important victory for all the italians, not only for him.

His first machines are in the form of a tall 50-liter metal boiler, cylindrical in shape, surmounted by an eagle with spread wings and luxuriously decorated with Art Deco friezes, acanthus leaves and enamels - the model is called "Venus". From the years 1910-1920, this same model, symbol of elegance and modernity, sits proudly on the counter of many historic cafes, especially Venetian.

In 1922, the painter Leonetto Cappiello, represents it on an advertising poster symbolizing the lifestyle of the time characterized by velocity. A shop distributing Victoria Arduino machines was opened in Paris in 1931.

Over the years, the Victoria Arduino has established itself as a reference of modernity and good taste in the most renowned establishments in Europe. In 1957, the brand was one of the sponsors of the Giro d'Italia. In the 1960s, on the Italian and international market, a new line of innovative machines was launched: Record, Olimpia, Superga, Aquila, and the famous Venus Bar. In the 2000s, the company's headquarters were transferred from Piedmont to Marche.

In 2005, during the brand's centenary celebrations, a limited edition of 100 numbered copies – named Venus Century – was produced, of which the "000" copy was offered to Pope Benedict XVI.[2] In 2007, Adonis was created, a model that combines current design and retro style while offering avant-garde technology.[3]
