Vijay Nehra

Vijay Nehra is an IAS officer of 2001 batch.[1] He is currently working as municipal commissioner of Amdavad Municipal Corporation since July 2018.[2] Before Ahmedabad Mr. Nehra has worked as collector of Vadodara[3] & Rajkot.[4]
Education[edit]
Nehra is holding MSc (Chemistry)[5] degree and he is also holding masters degree from Goldman School of Public Policy, Berkeley, California.[6]
Work[edit]
Nehra was part of Narendra Modi's core team when Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat.[7] He was transferred as the joint secretary (law and order) in the home department with additional charge of joint secretary in the CMO. Later, his position was re-designated as additional secretary to the government in the CMO.[8]
Municipal commissionaire Ahmadabad[edit]
Since 2018, he has taken many step to improve life style of the people of Ahmedabad. Some of the initiatives are listed below.
Ganesh Visarjan[edit]
In September 2019, Amdavad Municipal Corporation had created 61 artificial ponds[9] for Ganesh Visarjan. People choose artificial ponds over Sabarmati River for Ganesh Visarjan.[10][11][12]
