Vinappris was a television channel broadcast on Sky Digital channel 663 from their studios and wine bar in Fort Dunlop, Birmingham, United Kingdom. The channel sold and gave information on wines.
Launched on 19 March 2007, the channel was the brainchild of Steve and John Bennett. Steve Bennett is one of the founders of Gems TV, another shopping channel. The channel closed on 11 January 2008. Steve Bennett has now moved on to a jewellery company called Coloured Rocks.
The wine bar itself was completed in March 2007. Designed by Birmingham-based architects The Space Studio, it consisted of a 10-metre (33 ft) long refrigerated 'wall of wine' which chills red and white wine to the correct temperatures behind frameless glazing. The roof consisted of wooden slatted panels to mimic the shape of a wine cellar and the floor was covered in slate. The wine glasses were suspended from a canopy which was illuminated. Below it was a blue light illuminated ice trough to store opened bottles of wine and champagne.[1]
