Vinod Gangotra (born 10 December 1969) is an Industrial designer who works in product design specialising in Domestic Appliances.

Career[edit]

Gangotra received a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design in 1993 from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, United Kingdom. He continued his graduate studies in Eindhoven, The Netherlands with Philips Corporate Design (PCD).

In 1996 Gangotra began working for a subsidiary group of De'Longhi, Ariete for the next 3 years he created designs of small domestic appliances. In 2000 Gangotra set up a studio in Sesto Fiorentino,Florence.

In 2003 he was granted a patent for the invention of an electric coffee pot[1] In 2004 Gangotra was commisioned to design the 50th anniversary collection for Girmi .[2][3]

In 2008 He moved and lived in Delhi until returning to the United Kingdom in 2016. Gangotra has been a visiting lecturer in Industrial Design at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Amnehbad, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in Delhi and in Italy at the Università degli Studi di Firenze (UniFi)

Gangotra was born in 1969 in Nottingham, United Kingdom to Indian origin parents. The family emigrated from the Punjab to the United Kingdom were Gangotra was born and raised, he is one of four brothers. Gangotra attended college in west Nott’s college of F.E. Mansfield.
