The Virgin Mary of Metaxades or the Panagia i Metaxadiotissa (Greek: Παναγία η Μεταξαδιώτισσα) is an icon of the Virgin Mary that according to testimonies from the locals was found in the post-Byzantine church of Saint Athanasius in Metaxades, Evros, Greece and dates from the 15th to the 16th century. The icon has been damaged over time, resulting in the faces of the Virgin Mary and Jesus having been altered. The Virgin Mary holds Christ in her left hand, while her right hand brings it in front of her chest, wearing a red robe. Christ enthroned as he is usually represented, has his right hand blessed while his left is not clearly visible, he wears a red robe and a blue robe.
