The Virginia Lions, formerly the RVA Lions and Richmond Lions are a United States Australian Football League (USAFL) club, based in Richmond, Virginia, United States. Founded in 2018, the club is currently composed of a Division IIII men's team, a Division II women's team, and a Reserves men's team.
History[edit]
The Virginia Lions were founded in 2018 as the RVA Lions and admitted into the third division of the USAFL.[1] The club was founded by Darren Green.[2]
Organization[edit]
The club is based in Richmond, but operates training sessions for individuals looking to learn the game of Australian rules football in the Hampton Roads and Fredericksburg regions of Virginia. In 2022, the club launched a recreational Aussie rules football league in the Richmond region.
