The Virginia & Truckee (V&T) Railroad Depot of Carson City, Nevada is a historic railroad station in Virginia City, Nevada. It is significant for its association with the economically important role of the V&T railroad historically in Virginia City following discovery of the Comstock Lode mine in 1859. The depot was built in 1870, and served the V&T until 1872[2] when a new passenger depot was constructed on E street, on the other side of the Tunnel by the Virginia City Freight Depot. The Reno, Gold Hill, freight depot in Virginia City, and Carson City Depots still exist. After decades of private ownership and use as a residence, the V&T acquired the depot in 2013. While being used as a residence, the tracks of the reconstructed V&T came to a stop directly at the property line.[3] Ever since the depot was acquired it has been used for the reconstructed V&T as its main depot in Virginia City. The V&T engine shop is about half a mile to the south of the depot.
