From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

vishnu kurimilla is the CEO of Jeevamrut Foods Private Limited, a company founded in 2018 in Hyderabad, India, that produces organic and natural Farm Fresh Fruits, Vegetables and Groceries.

Background

Vishnu Kurimilla, the CEO of Jeevamrut Foods, while pursuing his Btech in his home town, which had most of its residents who were farmers, was inclined towards farming more than towards his current education then. His neighbors, who were farmers, were like family friends to Vishnu. One morning, Vishnu learned that his neighbors committed suicide only because they couldn’t earn enough to run their family. Devastated, Vishnu was torn apart by the fact that his neighbors were not able to live off farming only because their produce was not sold at its worth, but much lesser. This very fact was the reason for Vishnu to take it up as a challenge to bring about a change in the face of farming. He soon realized that high input costs, low returns and high debts to pay are the very reasons for farmers to think otherwise. He then began to tap into every resource possible in order to equip himself with the know-how of farming. Subhash Palekar, an Indian agriculturalist, had visited Vishnu’s village to conduct workshops on natural farming then. Vishnu thought this as the right opportunity to gain hands-on experience in farming and attended all the workshops. He was inspired by Subhash’s take on the practices of natural farming and decided to do something of his own.

‘Jeevamrutham’, an integral part of natural farming, is a great source of natural carbon, biomass, potassium, phosphorous and nitrogen, and is mainly constituted by cow urine, cow dung, jaggery, water and live soil. These enable the plants to grow naturally without the use of any artificial supplement which would indirectly harm the genetics of the crop. Vishnu took this concept and imbibed it in his natural farming practices. Though he faced multiple failures at the start of this journey, he knew that giving up was never an option. He was encouraged by a few like-minded farmers who chose to grow their crops naturally and hence helped each other by sharing each one’s expertise in the field.
