Volkhard Spitzer
Volkhard Spitzer (born August 12, 1943 in Göppingen) is a German Pastor and founder of "Cross Continental Ministries" in Berlin.
Life
Volkhard Spitzer was already known during the 1960s as the "Jesus-People-Pastor“ in then West-Berlin. It was during this time that he served as a pastor at the Christliches Zentrum Berlin near to Nollendorfplatz. In the years that followed, the church grew to more than 1000 members.
The 1st Charismatic Congress in 1979 and later the "Berliner Bekenntnistage" which took place in the Berlin Olympic Stadium in 1981 led Pastor Spitzer to form connections which opened doors for him to expand his ministry worldwide.
Under the leadership of Volkhard Spitzer, the Christliches Zentrum Berlin church was able to acquire the Kirche am Südstern after which Pastor Spitzer turned over the ministry to Peter Dippl. In the years that followed, Pastor Spitzer founded "Cross Continental Ministries" in order to further his evangelistic mission, especially in post-Soviet Russia.
In 1998, Pastor Spitzer took over the leadership of the Tabor-Gemeinde in Berlin-Kreuzberg which then merged with his former church in August 2004. At the end of June 2005, Pastor Spitzer again founded a new church called City Kirche Berlin International. Here he produced a television program titled "Hope For Tomorrow" which aired in Germany as well as several countries around the world.
He has one son with his wife Erika.
