Voll normaaal is a German comedy released in 1994 directed by Ralf Huettner [de] and starring Tom Gerhardt.

Plot[edit]

The first scene shows younger Dieter and Lisbeth Krause in the delivery room. After giving birth to her son Tommy they both wonder that the newborn is already wearing a bonnet. In the next scene, Tommy is already 25 years old and rides his moped in Cologne in the Kalk district east of the Rhine river. He stops at a video rental store. Right before he enters the store, he steps in a pile of dog doo and spreads it around the floor. Gabi yells at him, as she works there as a cleaning lady. The owner tells her to stop yelling at him, as Tommy is a regular guest and also tells her that he is a real movie expert - and so is she and they befriend. Tommy also learns that the hard core porn star Gianna S. has a performance in the event hall Free Life the following Friday (July 8, 1994). He takes a "participant card" from the cardboard. Later, the mentally retarded Heinz enters the store short before its closing time. He holds a VHS in his hands, but is not sure if he will rent it or not. When Gabi asks him finally to decide he tells her that this movie may probably be too hardcore for him and that he gets scurf spills around his ears when he gets upset. Finally, Gabi has to clean that mess up. Some days later Tommy's sister Carmen is taking a sunbath ans smoking a cigarette on the terrace of their family house. Tommy comes out and jolts the outdoor table in his clumsy way. The ashtray falls into Carmen's purse lying right below the table. When she notes the smoke rising she hits him with her purse. Meanwhile, father Dieter plays "intruder" with his spoilt wire-haired dachshund, covers the dog's eyes and tells him not to look at. Then the yuppie Norbert ("Nobbi") arrives with his BMW E30 convertible. He then talks to the Krause's about an offer to make them how to multiply their money with yield returns. Dieter tells about his dream of opening a dachshund breed association. Nobbi gives them an offer called Cash & Go. He seduces them by telling them that it is an investition in Brazil "where the Marks grow faster than the coffee". In order to get that offer, the Krause's have to put a mortgage on their house. As a special bonus, they get 1,000 Marks in cash after signature. Dieter needs some days to reconsider. Nobbi tells them that he later hosts a party. Tommy tells his Italian friend Mario about Gianna S.' show but Mario is focussed on the broadcast of a Italian soccer team match during the FIFA World Cup 1994. After watching a Gianna S. movie together, Tommie tells him about Nobbi's party. They drive there although they are not invited. While driving there they encounter Jupp the Pimp who is having sex with a woman in his Mercedes W 126. Tommy discovers the special exhaust pipe which he screws off to steal it. Furthermore, he and Mario peep on Jupp who gets very angry at them and follows them. They can outdistance him and get to Nobbi's house. They meet Gabi there and together, they find a beer barrel in the kitchen. Tommy hammers the faucet onto the barrel, however he forgets to install the rubber ring. So the beer is spilled everywhere although - mainly Tommy - has drunk most of the barrel's content. He then feels dizzy and goes out. On the party, an orchestra is playing Johann Strauß' Blue Danube and Tommy burps to the beat. As this is especially embarrassing for Nobbi, he orders the security to kick Tommy and Mario out. But Tommy shows that he has the urge to vomit. As the security cannot understand what Tommy wants to tell them, Gabi asks where the toilet is. However, Tommy cannot make it to the toilet and throws up over the catering buffet. Jupp arrives later and kicks the door in, but Tommy, Mario and Gabi already escaped. Tommy and Mario work together as car mechanics in a garage. Once, a rich lady comes with a Porsche and asks them to take care of her poodle while she has to do some things. They fight who will drive the car on the hoist - and as they both sit behind the wheel, they damage the car seriously. Then Tommy ties the dog with its leash on the lathe which spins the dog around. He puts the dog into a chamber as "it should be safe there". There is, however, a varnishing chamber and - as Tommy lets the running welding machine close to some buttons being pressed. So the dog gets varnished in different colors, and then even glowed. When the Porsche lady comes back, she is aghast as her car is severely damaged and get fainted after seeing only the bones of her poodle left. In the evening they meet Gabi and go to a porn cinema Blue Bird of which Jupp is owner. While Tommy gets the hot dogs for all three of them, Jupp discovers Mario and grabs his face in a threatening way to tell him that Tommy has to give him back his exhaust pipe. Meanwhile, Dieter has signed the Cash&Go contract and gets a 1,000 Marks banknote in cash and proudly shows it to Lisbeth. They hide it in a jewel case. Finally, it is Friday, July 8, 1994, the day when Gianna S. have her show. In front of the bar Baccara Club, Tommy reluctantly screws the exhaust pipe on again as Jupp made him. As a "recompensation", Tommy gives him a bottle of champagne, but Jupp wants him to buy a crate with Ramsdorfer Kölsch, a rare beer brand in Cologne. Jupp literally warns him to be on time at 7pm saying "Nur eine Flasche zu wenig, nur eine Minute zu spät - Köln-Kalk-Verbot!" ("Only one bottle too little, one minute too late - ban on Cologne Kalk district!"). Tommy sees himself now under pressure as he might miss the Gianna S. show. He first comes home and asks his father for money for beer. Dieter refuses and tells him "to drink a glass of milk if he is thirsty" and "that he worked hard for his money". Tommy tries to snitch Carmen's wallet but gets slapped. He finally finds the jewel case and snitches the 1,000 Marks banknote. He drives to a nearby beverage vendor and finds one crate there but the rude vendor tells him that he cannot change for a 1,000 Marks banknote. In this moment Tommy gets aware that he has got a 1,000 Marks banknote. He goes to another beverage store where he meets Die Toten Hosen who have a cameo appearance. He asks them where to find the Ramsdorfer Kölsch. They mock at him by telling him to go to the lemonade section which is a reference as the band is from Dusseldorf and there is a strong rivalry between Cologne and Dusseldorf. The vendor tells Tommy that the last crate has been sold just a moment before to the owner of the Greek Café Athen. Tommy then follows the van to that café. Meanwhile, Dieter hosts the solemn inauguration of his dachshund breed association he always dreamt about. He has ordered a catering buffet. He is soonly willing to pay the caterer with the 1,000 Marks banknote but he finds the jewel case empty. Both Dieter and Lisbeth are shocked that the money is gone. Dieter tries to convince the caterer that he already must have paid for the buffet, but the caterer explains him he did not get any money yet. A few moments later, Hubert Maulhöfer, CEO of the roofing bond of dachshund breed associations in North Rhine-Westfalia from Dusseldorf who is invited as honor guest. As the caterer sees himself unable to expect being paid, he orders his co-workers to remove the buffet. When Maulhöfer sees that everything seems to be empty around this place he wonders what he is supposed to do here. Dieter tells him then about Cash&Go and their promised yield returns. Maulhöfer tells him that it is a scam - and that he, by putting a mortgage on his house, soon will find himself homeless. All of his other companions he invited leave the house show Dieter their despisement who then cites the common phrase "A dog stays true to you during a storm, a human even not during a wind.". Tommy arrives at Café Athen and wants to "buy back" the Ramsdorfer Kölsch crate. The owner is very rude and first refuses to sell him the beer. After Tommy haggles to pay him even more than its worth, he finally sells him the crate but Tommy notices that one bottle is missing. The owner points at his companion who is just about to open the crown cap. Tommy tries to discourage him from doing that and begs him to buy that bottle instead. The companion disagrees and wants him to play the nutshell game for the beer instead. Tommy has now smaller 100 Marks banknotes as a wager. He loses the first match and gets another game for the next 100 Marks. After the second game lost he states that he has been tricked the gambler gets mad and threatens to kill him and to open the beer bottle. Tommy then offers also his moped for a match of Simon Says. He tricks the gambler by making him stand up below a vase on a shelf and gets the full beer crate. However, he fails to bring Jupp the beer crate on time as he gets distracted by Gianna S.' van on his way there. He also encounters Heinz there who tries to draw her attention to him. Tommy hints at Heinz who is very smelly as he has still rests of tripes from the lunch last Sunday. Furthermore, Heinz has dirty underpants which he problably has not changed for weeks. Nobbi has meanwhile seduced Gabi to get him into his house. There he blabs out that he has frauded a lot of people with Cash&Go and other scams with different names and boasts that he would be bust if he were honest. Gabi discovers a photo with the Krauses and their contract on a bulletin board. She then tricks him and sets a sex trap to him filling a condome with hot tabasco sauce, turning the light down and putting the condome over his penis causing him strong pains. In this time she takes the contract and photo away from the bulletin board and disappears. Nobbi later also visits the show. Carmen is picked up by her boyfriend who also go to the Gianna S. show. When Tommy and Mario arrive at the Free Life they get rejected by the security because those so-called participant tickets are NOT entrance tickets for the show but were meant for a contest to win tickets for the show. When Tommy discovers that Carmen is also there he tries to tell the security that he and Mario belong to them, Carmen tells the security man called Hansi to ignore them. Tommy and Mario then find some dog poop on the parking lot and toss it on Hansi as revenge. They miss him but hit Jupp instead. Jupp gets mad and persecutes them but they can hide in a back door. Jupp then declares that "now they have Cologne-Kalk-ban for life". Tommy and Mario have now the exclusive access as they stand directly below the scene where Gianna S. is dancing and twerking. They both screw the scene off until Gianna S. falls from the scene and they can have a very close view to her huge breast. After the show Jupp sees them together with Gabi very close to him. Jupp wonders that they have guts as they seem to be easy to catch. But Jupp is unable to drive as his car has no more tyres and stands on bricks. He then discovers his golden embellishers on Nobbi's car who mocks them. Jupp kicks out Carmen's boyfriend and takes his car to chase Nobbi. Carmen slaps her boyfriend as her wallet left in that car. Tommy, Mario and Gabi have hidden on a parking closed to a snack bar where they eat some snacks and Gabi explains them that she rescued Tommy's family from getting homeless what he would not understand anyway. In the last scene Tommy and Mario drive with their mopeds to Italy. Mario explains that they should be safe there and even IF Jupp ever came there, Mario would mobilize his friends to get him away. They arrive in a small port village at the sea coast. In a nearby restaurant a mafioso Don Paolo celebrates his 80th birthday together with his family. The son tells him how he and the mafia slayed their rival Claudio who blew up Don Paolo's car and proudly shows him Claudio's severed finger. Tommy discovers a brand-new Lincoln which is meant to be Don Paolo's present and sees a special exhaust pipe which he finds even better than Jupp's one. He screws off although Mario tries to discourage him. As Mario tries to avoid the term mafia he tells him "it belongs to 'the family'" and Tommy replies that "if it belongs to the family it should not be that bad". Tommy continues to screw off what is much more difficult than it was with Jupp's exhaust pipe. Mario prays for help as he sees Tommy in imminent danger. When the mafia leave the restaurant to show Don Paolo his present, the car drowns in the sea. The mafia instantly aim their guns at Tommy when Mario shouts at him to enter a rowing boat. They can flee and find themselves somewhere far at sea. Tommy then asks Mario where they will go to. Mario replies that now they can go to whatever they want as now they have no longer Cologne Kalk ban, but world ban instead. "That's not normal!" replies Tommy.
