WONA Concept is a Ukrainian bridal brand based in Lviv founded in 2009.[1][2][3][4] After the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, the company switched part of its output to military clothing, and partly relocated manufacturing to Poland to avoid Russian air attacks.[1][5][6][7]

History

It was established in 2009 in Lviv, Ukraine, as a home-based family atelier.[3][8] In 2010, the company opened its first Crystal bridal salon in Lviv.[9][10][11] By 2018, the brand began presenting its collections at major international bridal trade shows, including Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, New York Bridal Fashion Week, Bridal Week Harrogate, and European Bridal Fashion Week, marking its entry into the global bridal market.[12]

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, the company switched part of its output to military clothing.[1][5][13] In 2022, the company raised ₴115,000 to support the Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialised Hospital in Kyiv, which was ruined by the Russian missile strikes.[14] In 2023 it opened a showroom in Beverly Hills, California, and in New York City.[1][15][16]

Collections

It appeared at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week from the 2023 edition.[17][18] Its collections have also been reviewed by the Italian bridal magazine Sposi Magazine and covered in Vogue round-ups of New York Bridal Fashion Week.[19][20][21] In 2023 the brand made an embroidered veil for the wedding of Princess Sofia of Bavaria.[22][23][24] In December 2025, tennis player Venus Williams[25] wore a WONA Concept gown at a pre-wedding dinner.[26][27][28] The brand's gowns have been worn by public figures and influencers, including Olivia Culpo, Leonie Hanne, Lana Condor, Rose Bertram, Tamara Kalinic, Rebecca Mir, Ariadna Gutiérrez.[29][30][31][32][33][34]
