Waiting For Smile

This is a novel written by Wakil Kumar Yadav and published by Notion Press. It is now ready for readers.^[1] This novel touches upon all aspects of Meena Devi's life. It is laden with themes of dacoity, betrayal, spirituality, crime, murder, rape, and molestation. All incidents revolve around the societal issues of alcohol and superstition. How molestation, frustration, and starvation dominated Meena's mind, leading her to attempt to drown her children and commit suicide. She believed that the blood in the river water would bring her peace. Meena is trying to quench a thirst, a longing for peace, symbolised by the river's water. Waiting For Smile was published on 18 February 2019.^[2]

Novelist Wakil Kumar Yadav further said that:-

During the writing of this novel, I was so emotional that my heart cried out for Meena. My pen did not move quickly while writing this true and emotional life sketch of Meena Devi. But I was determined to write this novella at any cost. I hoped a ray of hope would come to Meena Devi's life. By writing about her life struggles, I am the first to give her literary recognition. Thus, I became the one who at least recognised Meena's struggle. This story is set in the countryside. All the incidents and places mentioned in this novel are located in Bihar, India.

In our Indian society, many women lose hope and commit suicide. But they must learn that every darkness is followed by light. Light will come if we keep smiling. All dark days will pass, and light will come to life. So never lose hope. Be hopeful and brave to face all situations. You have the potential. You can overcome the darkness.
