Wander South is the third and final studio album by American progressive metalcore band Parabola. It was released through The Equation on June 27, 2025. It is the band's longest release in their entire discography and the first to be fully mixed and mastered by Sean Benham. The album was produced by Sean Benham and Casio Robinson .
Background & Promotion
Towards the end of February 2025, the band released the single "Lose Control", their first new material since Beyond A Reasonable Doubt. This was followed by an announcement for a new album with no set release date as of yet. The new album marks a significant change in the band's creative process, as they stopped working with their long-time producer Casio Robinson in favour of Sean Benham. Robinson took on a co-producer role with Benham.
In April 2025, the band issued a second single, entitled "Hide The Shame", as well as restating they are working on a new album. The band revamped their website with the option to "Wander" north or south, linking to Google Maps locations. The band has also taken on a theme of Morse code.
In May 2025, alongside the release of an acoustic version of "It Is What It Was", Parabola announced a merch drop with 13 symbols, and a tracklist for the upcoming album, all in Morse code.
On May 21, the band announced a double single entitled "Granite State / Last Dance" would be released on May 23.
On June 26, 2025, the band announced via Instagram that their final album, Wander South, would be released on June 27th, and that it was their final release. Read the quote from the band below:
Our final album entitled "Wander South" will be yours on an undisclosed Friday in June. This was supposed to be an EP named "Mirrors II", a sequel to our first major release, but we kept feeling we had more to say and it became a full length album. We have new merch designs for the album on our website which is linked in our bio. Since our first song ever back in early 2023, "Sad Grapes In A Bag", we have grown through every single new release we put out, as musicians and as people. This album is a tribute to where we began, and an ode to where we are going to go.
Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Parabola will be disbanding after the release of this album. With both our founding members, Kasper and Casio, moving on to college and beginning a new chapter in their lives, we feel that without them Parabola wouldn't be what it is.
Everyone in the band will continue to make music on their own – Kasper is reviving his old project Kasper Country Road, Sean is continuing to release on Sonorize and will soon be starting a new band named Last Ocean with a debut single coming up this month, Ethan will soon begin his solo project River Styx, and Casio will continue to be active in his solo project CasioRobinson, as well as Despiona, Bread Shop, and of course, Neo-Deconstructionists.
