Wanderift is the first airline travel membership. Members pay either a yearly or monthly fee and are given a disbursement of tokens depending on their membership. One token corresponds to one one-way flight anywhere domestically. Members book flights beginning eight days before departure and up to three hours until departure. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
Wanderift offers a few different memberships. Personal members elect to pay either monthly or yearly. Monthly memberships are $500/per month plus $500 initiation fee with four tokens disbursed on a monthly basis; the monthly tokens do roll over on a month to month basis if not all tokens are used. Yearly memberships are $5,000 plus $500 initiation fee for 50 tokens disbursed for the year. Business members can choose between Option 1 and Option 2. Option 1 is $25,000 for 250 tokens and five employee accounts. Option 2 is $50,000 for 500 tokens and ten employee accounts.
How it Works
Members book flights through the Wanderift booking platform. Members enter a departure city, arrival city, and departure date and three different flight options will be displayed. Then the member selects the flight that best fits and spends there token. Shortly after they receive a booking confirmation followed by a confirmation number and flight details. Wanderift members can book flights in under a minute through either there travel platform or the Wanderbot (wanderift chatbot).
The company was founded by Zachary Burau. Wanderift emerged in 2018 from Dallas. A seed round of angel capital was completed in March 2018 with an investment of $350 thousand. In May 2018, Brad Burau was brought on as CFO. Wanderift will be launching their platform nationwide in late 2018.
