Wangduechhoeling Palace is a historical place museum located in Jakar, Bumthang District. It was built in 1857 as a private residence for Trongsa Penlop Jigme Namgyel, and was the birthplace of Bhutan’s first King, Ugyen Wangchuck, who was Namgyel’s son. Wangduechhoeling was the seat of national authority under Wangchuck in the early twentieth.[1]
