War Dragons is a real-time strategy mobile game, developed and published by Pocket Gems.
Gameplay
War Dragons is a real-time strategy game. The player can dream of collecting hundreds of dragons and build a dragon army to destroy enemy fortress while protecting his/her fortress with towers such as ballista, cannons, flak turrets, and archers. However the reality is that they are sitting around being slammed by high level players hitting low level players with less than 600 troops at a time, ever 2 minutes for sometimes over 24 hours while the developers tell you that this is part of the game play.
Development
War Dragons was developed and published by San Francisco-based company Pocket Gems.[1] It was in development for two years, based on their proprietary game engine the Mantis Engine.[2] It began life under the name "Dragon Attack Strategy" in 2012 by a different developer before being acquired and renamed in 2015. [citation needed]
Reception
Nadia Oxford for Gamezebo gave the game a positive review. However, most players have been driven from the game and the reviews and feedback is largely negative at this point. [3]
Novelization
In December 2015, Pocket Gems announced a novelization to their game, saying it was the "first-ever literary adaptation of a mobile game." The novel, "War Dragons: Every War Ends In Fire", was written by Brian Oliu. [4]
