wasl Asset Management Group is a semi-government entity and subsidiary of Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC). Headquartered in Dubai, UAE, the company was established in 2008 following the merger of Dubai Development Board and Real Estate Department to oversee the development and management of assets of Dubai Real Estate Corporation. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, is the chairman of wasl Asset Management Group, and Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim is the CEO.[3][4][5]
The company operates in property management, hospitality and leisure, and industrial zone development through its three subsidiaries – wasl properties, wasl Hospitality and Leisure, and Dubai Golf. wasl’s operations include building, investing, and utilizing commercial and industrial lands and properties in Dubai. Its current portfolio includes over 50,000 units distributed across Dubai.[6][7][8]
wasl was named amongst the Top Unlisted Real Estate Companies in the Middle East 2019 by Forbes Middle East, and the Dubai Quality Gold Award in 2020.[9][10]
