WatZatSong

WatZatSong is a social networking service with the aim of finding names of user-contributed audio samples. It was founded in 2006, and is based in France.[1][2][3]

The site is available in English and French. Users are able to suggest song names and follow samples for tracking named samples. The uploader is able to confirm or reject names suggested by others. A side bar which shows recently named samples and recent activities by users such as new uploads and comments.[4][5]

In September 2021, the site operators announced adding ability to highlight text in comments as bold, italic, and underlined.[6] On October 2nd, 2021, a seek bar was reportedly added to the audio player.[7]

Format[edit]

Before September 2021, the maximum allowable file size per uploaded audio sample is 5 megabytes, and MP3 and WAV are the only supported formats. However, support for OGG has been added and the size limit was raised to 25 MB in September 2021.[8]

Events[edit]

In 2019, the site's server ran out of disk space, disabling uploads for around two hours.[citation needed]
