12Go, formerly 12Go Asia, is a Singapore-registered online travel agency selling tickets for ground and sea transport.[1][2] The company operates from Bangkok and is a subsidiary of Travelier, formerly the Bookaway Group.[3][4][5]

History

12Go was founded in 2012 by Alexey Abolmasov,[6][1][4] initially operating as a ticketing agency in Bangkok.[7] The company was registered in Singapore in 2013.[8][9]

By 2014, the company raised US$300,000 from angel investors.[10] Around that time, it held schedule data for eight Southeast Asian countries – Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam and Indonesia – of which four were bookable and the remainder searchable only.[11][12]

In 2015, the company employed twelve staff, ran its website and applications in nine languages, and reported about 50,000 customers and 125 transport operators.[13] By 2017, it reported half a million customers and operations in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines, and had joined the Amadeus Next startup programme.[3]

In February 2020, 12Go integrated its transport search into Agoda under a white-label arrangement.[2] During the COVID-19 pandemic, it shifted focus to domestic markets, particularly Thailand.[14]

In 2021, 12Go was acquired by Bookaway, an Israel-based ground transport booking company, following a US$35 million Series B round.[15][16] Bookaway subsequently renamed itself Travelier and acquired the Argentine platform Plataforma 10 and the Brazilian platform DeÔnibus.[5]

In October 2022, 12Go's inventory was added to the AirAsia Super App, which reported 10.6 million monthly users, as a transport booking category.[17][18]

Abolmasov served as chief executive until 2023, when Travelier appointed Ron Hoffman to the post.[19]

In 2025, 12Go began providing Japan Rail Pass bookings, which include nationwide and regional rail options such as the Hakone Free Pass, and Tokyo Subway Ticket.[20]

On 28 April 2026, 12Go released an application for ChatGPT, allowing users to search and compare buses, ferries, trains and multimodal routes. Bookings are completed after redirection to the company's website or application.[4][21][22]

Services

The platform aggregates schedules, fares and seat availability from transport operators in a single search and allows several modes to be combined in one itinerary.[23][24][25] It also provides booking tools for travel agents and resellers.[23] Products include bus, train, ferry, flight and taxi tickets and travel insurance,[26][27] as well as rail passes and day trips.[13]

For 2025 12Go reported 8.7 million tickets sold, with coverage across Southeast Asia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Australia, North Africa and Oceania.[4][1]

As of 2025, the company is active in over 120 countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, China, Japan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, Egypt, Morocco, and New Zealand.[20][28]
