Webull Financial LLC (commonly known as Webull) is a Chinese financial services company headquartered on Wall Street in New York City.[2][3] The company offers a mobile app and website that offer people the ability to invest commission-free in stocks, options, ETFs, and crypto trading.[4] Webull operates a website and desktop and mobile apps for iPhone, Android, Apple, and Windows.[5] Being mobile-first, the company has no brick and mortar branches and operates entirely online.[6] By the end of August 2020, its total registered users exceed 11 million.[7]
Webull is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a FINRA regulated broker-dealer and is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation.[2] The typical Webull client is in their late 20s or early 30s and has about $3,200 in their account.[8]
Webull supports full extended hours trading, which includes full pre-market (4:00 AM - 9:30 AM ET) and after hours (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET) sessions.[9] The company has a live customer service hotline during trading hours.[8]
History[edit]
Webull, founded by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. alum Wang Anquan, was able to increase its roster of brokerage clients by about tenfold in 2020.[8] Webull started and continues to grow during a period of time in which Chinese-owned financial companies face skepticism from the U.S. government.[10]
The company’s name is the combination of two words; "We" is derived from the Chinese character 微, which symbolizes community, group, and modesty; Bull is a reference to a successful environment. In the words of the CEO Anthony Denier, "Webull means employees and users, as one united community, humbly taking one step at a time, striving toward greater growth and success."[11]
Products[edit]
Webull currently supports individual brokerage accounts as well as traditional, Roth, and Rollover IRA accounts. Their service includes a comprehensive news cycle, real-time market data, and analytical tools free-of-charge.[12]benzinga
