WeekToDo is a free minimalist weekly planner application for task management and time management created by Manuel Ernesto Garcia in 2021. It allows users to easily and intuitively manage tasks from a computer, online and offline. The main strength of the application is the privacy of the data, since all data is stored on the user’s side, so the application is able to work without internet access.
The software is a totally free project for its users and is supported by the voluntary contributions of its own users and sponsors. Until today it is available in ten languages. It is also available for most desktop operating systems, with a native application for Windows, Linux, macOS and an online version directly in the web browser.
Features
Among the main features of WeekToDo you can find simplicity, which is remarkable throughout its graphical interface, allowing users to intuitively learn how to use the application. The main view is made up of a weekly calendar and personalized task lists, which can be modified by the user to their liking. In the visual section, it has a dark mode and options that allow the customization of the graphic interface and the number of days that are displayed on the screen. It also has a module to create backup copies and restore them.
Tasks can be created, edited and deleted directly from the main interface and also have a detailed view to add more information. Each task contains a title, description with support for Markdown format, subtasks, colors, execution time and reminders with customizable sounds.
The application has a web version and a native version, which are similar in their internal operation. The native application allows its execution in the background so that the notifications remain active at all times. The biggest difference with other applications of its kind is that all the data is stored locally, so the user has full control of the information, even in the web version, since the information is stored in a database in the browser.
