Western Plains Animal Refuge

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Western Plains Animal Refuge (WPAR) is a non-profit, no-kill shelter center located in Hays, Kansas.

It was established in 2006 by veterinarian Jessica Braun and operated from her clinic. From 2011-2014, WPAR operated out of a donated manufactured home, and in 2014 transitioned to a foster-based system and an office in Hays.[1]

As of 2020 WPAR is a limited admission animal shelter that adopts out animals. WPAR offers assistance with spay and neuter, participates in trap–neuter–return efforts, and operates a companion animal food and supply bank from their office.[2]
