Westlink M7 Cities Marathon
The Westlink M7 Cities Marathon is a 42.195 km marathon run by Blacktown City Council in Western Sydney, Australia since 2006. The course, which is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations, begins in Liverpool, New South Wales and ends in Rooty Hill, running alongside the M7 motorway.[1]
The marathon's prize pool is A$33,000, with a first prize of A$8,000 claimed by Glenn Guzzo, in both the 2006 and 2007 races with times of 2:22:19 and 2:24:57 respectively.
The men's race record is 2:17:42 set by Julius Maritim in 2008. The ladies record is 2:42:44 set by Jackie Fairweather in 2010.
