Current operations[edit]

Mosaic is a mobile application soon to be available through the Apple App Store. Users will be able to make trades of listed companies around the world without having to pay brokerage. The Mosaic App is powered by a blockchain-based exchange.

The app waitlist has approximately 2000 users around the world with the majority being millennials. In July 2017, Mosaic launched a beta to over 250 users at the Australian Securities Exchange. The beta closed in October 2017.

In order to offer low-cost investing, Mosaic only makes a single trade per asset, per day. This means that the majority of the trades actually occur internally on the exchange - a method that Mosaic has declared the future of wealth management.

History[edit]

Mosaic was founded in 2017 by Matthew Jones, founder of high-frequency trading startup, TwelveLabs and Samuel Nixon, a finance consultant from E&Y. Jones and Nixon who met at a Hackathon in 2016 had built an exchange that used blockchain technology to move assets between thousands of users. They subsequently pitched this idea to Australian 'fintech' venture capital firm, H2 Ventures and was given angel investment 'on the spot'.[1]

In July 2017, Mosaic launched a beta to 250 users at the Australian Stock Exchange. The beta closed in October 2017.

In November 2017, Mosaic competed at the first TechCrunch Battlefield Australia.[2]

Funding[edit]

Mosaic has raised a total of $100,000 to date and is currently raising a seed round. All funding to date has come from H2 Ventures.[3]
