William James Armitage is a British entrepreneur and angel investor. He is the co-founder of BestOdds.com where he serves as CEO.[1] As an angel investor he was an early investor in several companies including Lot18, a wine ecommerce site[2] and Global 66, a Chilean fintech.[3]

Career[edit]

After finishing his Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Edinburgh,[4] Armitage joined the IG Group, a spread betting firm previously known as IG Index, at the dealing desk, after which he assumed the role of senior quoting dealer.[5] Later he moved on to become IG Group's head of Europe.[6]

Armitage was an early investor in Lot18,[7] where he served as the general manager for Europe in the companies effort to expand to the UK.[8][9]
