Will Lyle (born 1994) is an upright and electric bassist, bandleader, composer, and arranger.
Biography
A native of Orange County, California, Lyle attended Berklee College of Music. Upon graduating, he became a member of Billy Kilson's quartet which toured Japan in 2017. He has subsequently collaborated with Dave Kikoski, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Kendrick Scott, Pasquale Grasso, Bill Cunliffe, Duane Eubanks, Bones UK, Roy McCurdy, Ralph Peterson, Jr., Randy Napoleon, Bob Sheppard, Tony Guerrero, Gabe Lopez, Anthony Wonsey, and Philip Harper (trumpeter).
Lyle studied with Ron Carter at Manhattan School of Music, receiving his Master's degree in 2022.
He played as a session musician on Edward Shearmur's score for the 2018 show Escape at Dannemora.
