William D. Tate (born April 25, 1942) is an American politician and the incumbent Mayor of Grapevine, Texas. For over 35 years, Whillam D.Tate has been practicing law in Grapevine and the surrounding area. He is an attorney and has a law practice, as well as a fee office for Federal Title. He primarily practices in Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Wise, Parker and Collin Counties but has handled various and sundry cases in many of the outlining counties of Texas.[1][2]

Family[edit]

William D. Tate grew up in Grapevine, Texas, where he become a lawyer. His grandfather was the town’s first Nightwatchman and his father served on the School Board, City Council and as Mayor of Grapevine.

Mayor[edit]

Some of Tate's achievements as mayor are the arrival of Grapevine Mills Mall, the Gaylord Texan Resort, the TEXRail commuter train service (scheduled to open in December) and many other economic development projects for kick-starting the city's tax revenues.
