William Newnam
William E. Newnam, or Bill Newnam, is the Associate Director of Forensics and debate coach for the Barkley Forum at Emory University, and administrative director of the National Debate Project Debate Center at Georgia State University. Prior to his tenure at Emory, he coached debate at Wake Forest University.
At Emory, he has coached several winners of the National Debate Tournament, and he has been awarded the Ovid L. Davis Award, the National Coach of the Year Award, and the Lucy Keele Award for national service to forensics. He is a prolific writer, mostly in the field of forensics. He is a co-author of the book Lines of Argument: Core Volume and Lines of Argument for Policy Debate (both with Carol Winkler and David S. Birdsell, Brown & Benchmark, 1993)
