William Temple House from Trebovir Road

William Temple House is a residence for international students in Earl's Court, London established in 1952[1] by the Board of Mission of the Church of England. It is named after Archbishop William Temple and is operated on a non-profit basis by International Students Club, a registered charity[2]. The building was purchased to accommodate thirty-eight students from Commonwealth countries as part of a wider initiative to attend to the spiritual and practical welfare of Commonwealth students studying in London[1]. Ownership and operation of the house was transferred to International Students Club in 1967, with proceeds from the sale of another student residence in Praed Street used to fund the purchase and refurbishment. The residence continues to accommodate up to fifty students[3] on the same basis.
