Sergeant Major William Thomas Mason (1845–1913) was a solider and New Zealand policeman who was the last commissioned Sergeant Major of police in active service in New Zealand.[1]
Biography[edit]
William Thomas Mason was born in Chatham, Kent in 1845 to William and Deborah Mason. [2] As a soldier in the 43rd Regiment he arrived in New Zealand on board the Silver Eagle in March 1864.[3]
