Williams Santamaría Valdera (5 August 1962 – 30 April 2021) was a Peruvian politician.[1] He served as mayor of the Mi Perú District.[2][3][4]

Biography[edit]

Valdera was born to Toribio Santamaría Chapoñán and Santos Manuela Baldera Chapoñán in Lambayeque. He studied business administration and technical studies in Lima.

He unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2011 in the Constitutional Province of Callao. In 2014, he was elected to the Ventanilla District Council and unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Mi Perú the following year. He succeeded on his second attempt in 2018 [es], taking office on 19 January 2019.[5]

Williams Santamaría Valdera died of COVID-19 in Callao on 30 April 2021.[6]
