History[edit]
The current day location of Williamson's Chapel is 5–6 miles from its original location farther down Brawley School Road. Although the Church was formed in 1911, the church did not obtain land or a building until 1912. The church remained at this location until 1961. In this year, the church's land was bought by Duke Power company as one of the many properties Duke Power Company bought in order to clear land for the flooding of Lake Norman. During this year Duke Power Company helped Williamson's Chapel buy another property at the current day intersection of Brawley School Road and Williamson's Road.
Interesting Facts[edit]
The cemetery from the original property can still be viewed directly west of Brawely School Road about 100 yards north of Yacht Road.
