Willow Avalon in an American recording artist. Avalon's music contains themes of Americana, and fits a genre between country, folk, and pop.

Early Life[edit]

According to Avalon's YouTube channel, she grew up in rural Georgia and was raised Baptist.[1] Avalon is the daughter of recording artist Jim White.[2] Avalon reports growing up poor in the Deep South, experiencing a turbulent home life, and leaving home at 15 to pursue music.[3][2]

Career[edit]

Avalon released her first single, "Drivin" in 2021. Her song "Sweetblood", now unavailable on streaming platforms, was featured in a season 6 episode of Riverdale[4], and the feature granted her the financial freedom to pursue her musical ambitions more seriously. Avalon is also known for her eccentric online persona, having amassed over 100k followers on Instagram, and over 400k followers on TikTok. Avalon released her first full album, Stranger, on February 29, 2024[5] and continues to share new clips of music through her social media. Sonically and aesthetically, Avalon has been compared to Dolly Parton, whom Avalon admire. Referring to her 2024 single "Gettin' Rich, Goin' Broke", Avalon stated "I desperately want Dolly Parton to tell me I did a good job on this song."[3]
