Kim Min-jeong (Hangul: 김민정; born January 1, 2001), known professionally as Winter, is a South Korean singer and dancer. She debuted as a member of South Korean girl group Aespa in November 2020. She is also a member of the female supergroup Got the beat.
Early Life[edit]
Winter was born on January 1, 2001, in Busan, South Korea and grew up in Yangsan.[1] Her family consists of her parents and an older brother.[2]
Career[edit]
2020–present: Debut with Aespa, Got the Beat, and solo ventures[edit]
On October 26, 2020, Winter was officially introduced and became the first member of Aespa to be revealed to the public.[3] Aespa made their debut on November 17, 2020, with the release of their digital single Black Mamba.[4] Aespa marked the first girl group debut by SM Entertainment in six years since Red Velvet in 2014.[5]
On 14 July, 2021, Winter made a special appearance in the music video to labelmate Kangta's remake single "Free To Fly 2021".[6] On December 27, Winter was revealed as a member of the supergroup Got the Beat, alongside groupmate Karina, the first unit of SM Entertainment's project group, Girls On Top. They performed their debut digial single, "Step Back", at the SM Town Live 2022: SMCU Express at Kwangya online concert on January 1, 2022 before the official release on January 3, 2022.[7]
On May 22, 2022, Winter released the single "Once Again" with groupmate Ningning as part of the soundtrack of the TvN television series Our Blues.[8]
On February 27, 2023 Winter collaborated with labelmate Yesung for the lead single "Floral Sense" from his album of the same name.[9] On September 21, Winter collaborated with Im Si-wan for the single "Win For You" which will be the theme song of the 2024 World Team Table Tennis Championships.[10] On November 9, it was confirmed that Winter would be part of a special collaboration single "Nobody" with Ive's Liz and (G)I-dle's Soyeon, which would be released on November 16.[11][12][13]
