    Functionality[edit]

Interface of the free software program WizTree

WizTree scans hard drives, folders, CSV or MFT (Master File Table) files to provide a detailed analysis of free and used space. The program supports all hard drive types supported by Microsoft's Windows operating system including FAT32 and NTFS.

The program visualizes the data in several ways, including in a hierarchical tree view listing and a treemap.

Users and administrators may use the program for several purposes, e.g. to find the largest folders and files on a drive, to quickly delete large files and folders to free up disk space, or to find files of a specific type, e.g. image or video files.

The built-in search may be used to locate files by name; it supports the wildcard character "*" to filter the results based on the entered query.

Data that is displayed by the program may be exported to CSV files or copied to the clipboard. MTF files may also be dumped to a file.

WizTree may be run from the command line to export data to CSV files or to dump the MFT file. It is possible to use it to create disk usage reports with PowerShell.[1]
