World Health Ambassador[1] (WHA), a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit seeks to deliver health care and emergency relief to underprivileged populations in the U.S. and around the world, as well as victims of natural disaster. For more than a decade, World Health Ambassador (WHA) has expanded across the globe serving 65,000+ patients in populations in South East Asia, Canada, Europe, the Eastern Caribbean and India. WHA has grown as an organization and currently represents 700+ active members and local chapters in D.C., Texas, Canada and Vietnam.

Volunteers[edit]

A WHA Mission Team represents a diverse background of 25-35 medical and dental professionals. The Medical Team includes family physicians; internists; [[Pediatrics|pediatricians] and specialists in the areas of infectious disease, dermatology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and gastroenterology. The Medical Team will consult patients in the hospitals and outlying clinics.  The Ophthalmology Team will provide cataract surgeries when an appropriate surgical facility is available. The Dental Team will treat a broad range of dental diseases.

Mission[edit]

WHA volunteer medical professionals travel around the world on mission and provide free medical and dental treatment for individuals and communities who do not have access to needed health care. The WHA Team collaborates in the destination country and works with local health care resources to ensure continuity of care and proper follow-up cost control for patients. WHA also works with other non-profit organizations in the U.S. and abroad by offering medical expertise to local populations.

2018 mission to Vietnam[edit]

The primary mission is to provide care for underserved residents and those who suffered from the recent floods in and around the Da Nang and Quang Nam provinces and to visit the refugee camps in the Tay Ninh area.  The secondary mission is to provide clinical training to health care students and professionals.
