Wynberg public library is situated in Maynardville, Wynberg. [1] in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa.
History
Public libraries are known as environments where free and equal use of facilities are possible. After the adoption of apartheid, legislation, such ad the Provincial Library Ordinances of 1949 and 1955, access to libraries, was restricted. Wynberg library one of first public libraries in CapeTown to be separated under apartheid laws. A “European and non-Europeans” section was established three years after South Africa became a republic. [2]
